Sustainability

This was the first thing I wanted for Ørkengull - to consist solely of sustainably, carefully mined crystals. Unfortunately, what I found, was that there doesn't exist any regulations or even HSE(HMS) for mining crystals.

Some business marked their crystals as sustainably sourced - and if I feel a match between us, I will definitely choose to buy from a supplier like this. Some of the crystals you can buy from me, like the Arkansas Quartz, the Columbian Lemuria Quartz, the Larimar and the Pink Opal, are all from family businesses that could show me pictures from the mines, and talk about how the mining benefits the community in the area.

The truth is, anything you dig out or source from nature, is long term not sustainable. It will end, if we keep digging.

I think the most important part to me then becomes:

For all of us to be conscious of how we shop and who we support with our money.
To be transparent about the production line, ask away!
To steer away from the businesses that could be more likely to have too many production levels to be able to know about the whole trip of the crystals.
For me to only buy living, vibrating Crystals for Ørkengull, that I perceive wants to go to Norway.
For me to buy from suppliers I feel are a match to Ørkengull and our intentions.

So in conclusion, not all my suppliers are marketing themselves as sustainable, but it doesn't always mean the crystals aren't a good match for energy work. I now choose based on energy, not marketing.

The day we add regulations in this business to guarantee the mining is sustainably done, I will always choose that first.
